This Nogales, Sonora, shrine memorializes José Antonio Elena Rodriguez, who was 16 years old when a U.S. Border Patrol agent fired through the border fence hitting the teen 10 times from behind. José died in the street just four blocks from his home. His family is still awaiting justice. The agent was acquitted of second-degree murder. He will be retried on manslaughter charges.
